Local signals between WA1AC, KP2AE, KW4DE, W2AZQ and W4DEX was fair on the 75 to 100 mile paths but poor on the shorter paths. K5HFG and W4DEX made CW transmissions. Only local receptions were reported. KGØVL was in RX mode only while work is in progress on his TX antenna.

WW8II on CW was weak today at KGØVL. AB4AM on CW was detected by WW8II. No other DX receptions reported by or from K5HFG, AB4AM, KP2AE, KW4DE, WA1AC or W4DEX.
AB4AM on SSB was peaking near S9, averaging about S5 at KP2AE, KW4DE, WA1AC and W4DEX. We had very good SSB copy between all stations at around 100 miles or less.

We had several receptions over the 100 mile mark today. WW8II on CW was heard by KGØVL (443 miles) along with considerable QRN. WW8II on CW was detected by WA4PGI (358 miles) and W4DEX (510 miles). Also a possible detection by KP2AE. WW8II copied WA4PGI (358 miles) on CW reporting 559 with QSB. WA1AC also copied WA4PGI with lots of QSB. K5HFG was also on for the reporting no receptions.
The shorter paths between KP2AE, W2AZQ, WA1AC and W4DEX was good with moderate QSB.

KGØVL copied WW8II again today at 443 miles. Also, WW8II received a positive ID from KGØVL.
No other DX receptions by or from the above plus K5HFG, W4DEX, KP2AE, WA4LDU and W2AZQ.
At the 100 mile range and closer signals initially were fair with QSB occasionally taking the signal into the noise. At about 1650UT the signals between KP2AE, WA4LDU, W2AZQ and W4DEX increased dramatically reaching near S8 at times. Some QSB still existed but there was no deep fades.
WW8II had a brief S9+20 dB QSO with AI8W at 10 miles.

There was poor daytime propagation on August 4th through the 7th due to unsettled geomagnetic field activity.
On August 4th paths between WA4LDU, WW8II, K4DBK, AB4AM and KK6TBN were checked. No signals detected between all.

On August 6th the only path tried was between KGØVL and WW8II. No signal detected.
On August 7th the AB4AM, WA4PGI, KGØVL and WW8II paths were tried. No signal detected.

KGØVL had Q5 copy of WW8II on CW during at least part of the daily 2 minute transmission. W4DEX detected CW during WW8II's transmission but had no copy.
The short 51 mile path between KP2AE and W4DEX was way down from the previous two days. There was deep fades taking the signal down into the noise at W4DEX.

Good local propagation again today between KP2AE, WA1AC, WA4LDU and W4DEX. Also at times, AB4AM was Q5 SSB copy. On the longer paths, WW8II on CW was weak but readable for about half of the 2-minute test transmission at W4DEX.
That's the first positive reception we've had in several months on the 510 mile path. KGØVL detected WW8II's signal but it wasn't copyable like it was yesterday.

Today we had WW8II, KGØVL, K5HFG, KP2AE, WA1AC, KW4DE, WA4LDU, W2AZQ and W4DEX. Close in propagation between KP2AE and W4DEX at 51 miles was very poor. Out a bit farther signals between WA1AC, WA4LDU, KW4DE, W2AZQ and W4DEX were fairly good with little QSB.
On the DX paths, KGØVL was again able to copy CW from WW8II at 443 miles. This now seems to be normal due to WW8II running close to legal limit and KGØVL's low noise location and receiving capability with the single apex loop antenna.
At about 5 seconds into K5HFG's CW transmission, a weak but very detectable dash was heard by KP2AE and W4DEX. These brief receptions have been occasionally reported by multiple stations. If these brief signals are actually from the distant station the mode of propagation has not determined.
On the DX paths, KGØVL was again able to copy CW from WW8II at 443 miles. This now seems to be normal due to WW8II running close to legal limit and KGØVL's low noise location and receiving capability with the single apex loop antenna.
