Local signals between WA1AC, KP2AE, KW4DE, W2AZQ and W4DEX was fair on the 75 to 100 mile paths but poor on the shorter paths.  K5HFG and W4DEX made CW transmissions.  Only local receptions were reported.  KGØVL was in RX mode only while work is in progress on his TX antenna.  

The AB4AM / K5HFG path was the only one tested today.  No signal either way between the two.  K5HFG did receive AB4AM on a Birmingham, AL SDR receiver at 175 miles.  

KGØVL had QSO quality CW reception from WW8II during prat of the 2-minute transmission.  No other DX receptions made by K5HFG, KP2AE, WA1AC and W4DEX.  Locally propagation between KP2AE, W4DEX and WA1AC was about average with moderate QSB.

KGØVL again could detect CW from WW8II.  No other DX reports noted.
AB4AM on SSB and CW was copied by KP2AE, W4DEX, WA1AC and W2AZQ.
Local signals noticeably down form the very good levels we saw yesterday.

WW8II on CW was weak today at KGØVL.  AB4AM on CW was detected by WW8II.  No other DX receptions reported by or from K5HFG, AB4AM, KP2AE, KW4DE, WA1AC or W4DEX.

AB4AM on SSB was peaking near S9, averaging about S5 at KP2AE, KW4DE, WA1AC and W4DEX.  We had very good SSB copy between all stations at around 100 miles or less.

We had several receptions over the 100 mile mark today.  WW8II on CW was heard by KGØVL (443 miles) along with considerable QRN.  WW8II on CW was detected by WA4PGI (358 miles) and W4DEX (510 miles).  Also a possible detection by KP2AE.  WW8II copied WA4PGI (358 miles) on CW reporting 559 with QSB.  WA1AC also copied WA4PGI with lots of QSB.  K5HFG was also on for the reporting no receptions.

The shorter paths between KP2AE, W2AZQ, WA1AC and W4DEX was good with moderate QSB.

KGØVL copied WW8II again today at 443 miles.  Also, WW8II received a positive ID from KGØVL.  

No other DX receptions by or from the above plus K5HFG, W4DEX, KP2AE, WA4LDU and W2AZQ.

At the 100 mile range and closer signals initially were fair with QSB occasionally taking the signal into the noise.  At about 1650UT the signals between KP2AE, WA4LDU, W2AZQ and W4DEX increased dramatically reaching near S8 at times.  Some QSB still existed but there was no deep fades.  

WW8II had a brief S9+20 dB QSO with AI8W at 10 miles.

KGØVL copied CW from WW8II today at 443 miles.  AB4AM was 529 to 569 CW at W4DEX, 216 miles.  K4DBK was also on.  No other receptions reported.

KGØVL heard WW8II on CW today and WW8II detected KGØVL's signal.  No DX reports on K5HFG and W4DEX.   Locally KP2AE was marginal copy at times with WA1AC and W4DEX.   Some QSB was noticed on the WA1AC / W4DEX path.  

No signal detected between KGØVL, WW8II and W4DEX again today.  Propagation on the  KP2AE, W4DEX, W2AZQ, less than 100 mile paths, averaged much weaker than we experienced yesterday.  And the fades were much slower.   

Locally we experienced signal levels changing fast from near S9 to unreadable between KP2AE, W4DEX and W2AZQ.  We have seen those conditions only a few time before, mainly on the 200+ path to WB4EZ.  No DX signals detected between K5HFG, KGØVL and W4DEX.

We experienced quick deep QSB fades on signals out to 100 miles today between KP2AE, KW4DE, WA4LDU, WA1AC and W4DEX.  QRN from eastern TN storms was moderate. 
No signal detected on the longer paths between K5HFG, KGØVL, WW8II and W4DEX  

No signal detected between WW8II, KGØVL and W4DEX.  The short 51 mile path between KP2AE and W4DEX was barely useable with the signal going into the noise at times.

No signals detected during the test today between KGØVL, WW8II and W4DEX.

Good short-range propagation between KP2AE, KW4DE, W2AZQ, WA4LDU, WA1AC and W4DEX today.  Some slow fades were noticed.  No signals detected on the over 500 mile paths to WW8II and KGØVL

No signals detected between WW8II, KGØVL and W4DEX today.

There was poor daytime propagation on August 4th through the 7th due to unsettled geomagnetic field activity.

On August 4th paths between WA4LDU, WW8II, K4DBK, AB4AM and KK6TBN were checked.  No signals detected between all.

On August 5th there was no activity.

On August 6th the only path tried was between KGØVL and WW8II.  No signal detected.

On August 7th the AB4AM, WA4PGI, KGØVL and WW8II paths were tried.  No signal detected.

AB4AM on SSB was 5x5 and on CW between 529 and 579 at W4DEX.  K4DBK dashes copied at 529.  No signal heard at WW8II from W4DEX and AB4AM and no signal heard from WW8II.

KGØVL had Q5 copy of WW8II on CW during at least part of the daily 2 minute transmission.   W4DEX detected CW during WW8II's transmission but had no copy.

The short 51 mile path between KP2AE and W4DEX was way down from the previous two days.  There was deep fades taking the signal down into the noise at W4DEX.  

Lots of QSB today but good signals on peaks. WW8II copied WA4PGI on CW at 490 miles:

KGØVL heard WW8II replying to WA4PGI at 443 miles.

AB4AM on SSB was very good copy at W4DEX, WA4LDU and W2AZQ.  Also AB4AM was good copy at WA1AC at times.

The solar wind speed was around 500 km/sec.   

Good local propagation again today between KP2AE, WA1AC, WA4LDU and W4DEX.  Also at times, AB4AM was Q5 SSB copy.  On the longer paths, WW8II on CW was weak but readable for about half of the 2-minute test transmission at W4DEX.

  That's the first positive reception we've had in several months on the 510 mile path.  KGØVL detected WW8II's signal but it wasn't copyable like it was yesterday.

WW8II was also detected by W4DEX and KP2AE but too weak to copy.  Local signals were very good between WA4LDU, KP2AE, W2AZQ and W4DEX. K5HFG was also on but was not heard and reported hearing no one.  

Today we had WW8II, KGØVL, K5HFG, KP2AE, WA1AC, KW4DE, WA4LDU, W2AZQ and W4DEX.  Close in propagation between KP2AE and W4DEX at 51 miles was very poor.  Out a bit farther signals between WA1AC, WA4LDU, KW4DE, W2AZQ and W4DEX were fairly good with little QSB.  

On the DX paths, KGØVL was again able to copy CW from WW8II at 443 miles.  This now seems to be normal due to WW8II running close to legal limit and KGØVL's low noise location and receiving capability with the single apex loop antenna. 

At about 5 seconds into K5HFG's CW transmission, a weak but very detectable dash was heard by KP2AE and W4DEX.  These brief receptions have been occasionally reported by multiple stations.  If these brief signals are actually from the distant station the mode of propagation has not determined.
  

Today KGØVL got enough CW from WW8II for positive identification.  WW8II did not hear KGØVL, AM4AM or W4DEX.  WW8II and KGØVL were not heard by AB4AM and W4DEX.  The path between AB4AM was very weak on SSB but useable on CW with very noticeable QSB.
