WY3T was again able to get some CW copy from W4DEX at 336 miles but nothing was heard in the other direction.  The 323 miles between KGØVL and KØAWU was S2 SSB copy both ways.  CW was also peaking 539 but some fades took the signals down to the noise.  KGØVL's CW was detectable at WW8II with a brief peak good enough for a positive call signal copy.  

The short 51 miles between KP2AE and W4DEX was very poor with difficult copy at times.

The highest latitude path was better today.  KGØVL reported KØAWU's CW signal the best in the last few days. Peaking 539 slight qsb but fairly stable.  Also, a SSB S2 to S3 contact was made. 

On the west to east path, KGØVL received no signal from WW8II but WW8II reported detecting KGØVL's CW for about five seconds on a propagation peak. 

WY3T was absent today so reports on the most southern paths.   Propagation between K4FI and W4DEX was much better than yesterday but still below what we usually have.  The AB4AM / W4DEX 216 mile path has been noticeable poor recently.  Looking back at reports from a year ago we had the same conditions.  AB4AM had much better CW copy on K4FI than from W4DEX.   That path is 56 miles shorter at 160 miles.

Propagation today was again poor with weak signals on both local and distant paths.  Even signals on the KGØVL / KØAWU path faded into the noise at times on the KGØVL end.  WW8II and KGØVL were able to get brief copy both ways.  WW8II received a partial copy on AB4AM on peaks.  WY3T initially received AB4AM 329, then a deep fade with the signal returning with 539 copy.  WY3T had a partial copy on K4FI and W4DEX.      

The most noticeable propagation change today was on the short paths.  AB4AM was barely readable at K4FI and W4DEX.  Signals even went into the noise on the 93 mile K4FI /W4DEX path, a first.

Today we had only two confirmed reception reports over 300 miles.  Between KGØVL and KØAWU propagation was good enough for a S2 SSB contact.  But KGØVL reported KØAWU's CW much weaker than usual during the two minute CW transmission with fades into the noise.  WY3T reported CW from W4DEX 539 the full 2 minutes which was unexpected due to deep QSB on most other paths.  WY3T detected CW from K4FI with no copy.

On the shortest path KP2AE's signal, while S5 most of the time, completely vanished into the noise at times at W4DEX and KW4DE.

With a positive DST number  propagation was better today on the most northern path.  KGØVL and KØAWU reported good SSB copy at S-4 on the 323 miles between them.

KGØVL copied most of the 2 minute CW transmission from WW8II at 319, 444 miles.  WW8II heard enough from KGØVL to copy a series of Vs

WY3T had some copy on AB4AM and W4DEX although in the other direction no signal was heard.

K5HFG may have detected some CW from AB4AM and W4DEX.

AB4AM on SSB was weak at KW4DE, WA4LDU, W4DEX and KP2AE but his signal was very good copy on CW.

The shortest path, 51 miles between KP2AE and W4DEX, was unusually good today compared to the 103 miles from WA4LDU to W4DEX.  The 51 miles path most often is much weaker.

The poor daytime propagation continues but still, WW8II and KGØVL were able to copy each other call sign on peaks at 444 miles. The second best distant reception was made by WY3T who copied W4DEX peaking 539 at 336 miles.  The 323 miles between KØAWU and KGØVL is still holding up well enough for Q5 SSB copy.   WY3T also copied K4FI peaking 539 at 249 miles.  

Signals from K4FI and WA4LDU at W4DEX were more stable today but still weaker than what we regularly saw a month ago.  The shortest path of 51 miles between KP2AE and W4DEX gave weak signals with deeper QSB than on the other ~100-mile paths.

We found propagation slightly better today with KGØVL and WW8II having some copy both ways at 444 miles.  WY3T copied K4FI and W4DEX with QSB.  WY3T also copied AB4AM 549 for the full two-minute transmission.  WY3T was copied by W4DEX or 90 seconds of the two-minute transmission.  

The AB4AM / W4DEX 216 mile path was too weak for SSB but CW was Q5 copy in both directions.  Signals between KP2AE, WA4LDU, K4FI and W4DEX were not up to normal levels but we didn't see the complete loss of signal during fades today.

Propagation was down even more today.  Still, we had Q5 copy on several paths over 300 miles.  KGØVL and KØAWU were still able to swap reports on SSB and had fair CW copy at 323 miles.  WY3T caught a fair propagation peak on CW from W4DEX reporting 10 seconds of copy at 336 miles.  WY3T received even better copy at 539 for 80 seconds from K4FI at 249 miles.  Also, K4FI and WA4LDU copied some CW from WY3T.  

Signals at short range between K4FI, WA1AC, WA4LDU, KW4DE, and W4DEX were very poor with the exception of the ground wave paths between K4FI / WA4LDU and W4DEX / KW4DE.  

Nothing on the solar or propagation charts looked unusual but the aurora oval map at the time was showing enhanced activity.

The most distant path today that would provide a valid QSO was 336 miles between WY3T and W4DEX.  KØAWU was absent or the 323 miles between him and KGØVL would likely have been QSO quality as it has been the most reliable path.  WW8II's CW was detectable at W4DEX and KGØVL but not strong enough to copy any characters.  K5HFG's signal was also detectable at 464 miles by WA4LDU.

Signals between WA1AC, KW4DE, WA4LDU and W4DEX were again strong on peaks with lots of deep QSB.

Propagation was slightly better today on some paths.  The KGØVL / KØAWU path was good enough for a 5x2 SSB contact and Q5 copy on CW during most of the usual two minute transmissions.  The 444 miles between WW8II and KGØVL was weak but still complete calls were copied both ways on CW on propagation peaks.  WW8II was not heard to the south.  WY3T received Q5 CW reports from AB4AM, WA4LDU and W4DEX.   WY3T copied K4FI and W4DEX at 429 on peaks and AB4AM 539 and 549 on a peak.  AB4AM had 439copy on K5HFG for about 20 seconds.  The shorter paths were weaker than normal but deep fades close to the noise at times.
