I did the pre net test again from 1521ut to 1559utc today 06-20-2022. WW8II transmit 10 second legal limit CW signal to W4DEX receive station every 2 minutes, 510 mile path. The following graphs are the data. I compared the signal (blue line)_and QSB to the D layer absorption level (red line) and can see no direct correlation between the absorption and the QSB .. Also, the Solar wind was fairly constant ranging from 615 km/s to 630 km/s and the density was 10.13p/cm3 to 12.55p/cm3 with the PHI running close to the 0 point again no correlation to the QSB.
I do believe that the extreme IONIZATION of the ionosphere does play a role in the signal strength and also the flares have an effect in the signal level, but they alone do not cause what we see as QSB.
