Coronal hole faces Earth
Maybe the above was responsible for the weaker and more dynamic range in signal strength today than we have seen recently.
========================================================
17:32 KP2AE-JOE: Hearing AB4AM on SSB
17:32 W4DEX-DEX: Lots of fast QSB on the short path to KP2AE
17:32 W4DEX-DEX: Signals good on peaks but deep fast fades
17:36 WW8II-BRUCE: KG0VL 519 SLOW QSB BUILDING TO 539
17:37 WW8II-BRUCE: SOLID 539 AT THE END
17:37 W4DEX-DEX: KG0VL barely detectable at the start then built up to 439 at end of the 2 min xmission
17:38 KG0VL-JEFF: K5HFG right at the noise threshold, but I can make out Don's call
17:39 KG0VL-JEFF: AB4AM good CW signal now into Iowa
17:40 W4DEX-DEX: AB4AM initially 439 now up to only 549
17:41 AB4AM-ROB: K5HFG in the noise
17:41 WW8II-BRUCE: NOW COPY AB4AM 449 IN THE NOISE
17:41 KG0VL-JEFF: AB4AM went from 529 to gone in sixty seconds.
17:42 WW8II-BRUCE: W4DEX IN THE NOISE
17:42 WW8II-BRUCE: COPY W4DEX VERY WEAK
17:43 AB4AM-ROB: W4DEX came out of the noise to 589 the quickly back into the noise...Hearing on Inverted V and nothing on K9AY...
17:44 KG0VL-JEFF: W4DEX signal up and down, Q5 to no signal. Much like ocean waves, ebb and flow.
17:45 W4DEX-DEX: WW8II barely detectable.....built up a bit at the end
17:45 W4DEX-DEX: spaceweatherlive.com reporting coronal-hole-facing-earth
17:46 K5HFG: light copy on ww8ii to no copy
17:46 KG0VL-JEFF: WW8II like the others today, strong signal to not being heard.
17:49 WW8II-BRUCE: SOLAR WIND PUSHING HARD ON THE EARTH MAGNETIC FIELD
17:50 KP2AE-JOE: Having trouble copying W4DEX...AB4AM was 549 on CW
17:53 W4DEX-DEX: Losing the path to KP2AE
