Propagation was good enough today for several 400 to 800 mile 579+ CW receptions.  Also on SSB except during QSB fades.  Several notable observations from the log below:

  • 17:42 KG0VL-JEFF: Nearly sounded like I heard two signals from AB4AM, unless there was another CW signal just under his.
  • 17:48 KG0VL-JEFF: AB4AM also sounded like an echo present.
  • 17:39 W2AZQ-CARL: Heard some CW from K5HFG but no copy.  (Carl has detected K5HFG several times when no one else in the NC and SC did.  W2AZQ and K5HFG are with 1 degree of being at the same latitude)

17:45 KG0VL-JEFF: W4DEX 559 and in for the two-minute duration.

17:45 K5HFG: no copy on W4DEX. I can see his sig on scope. Hearing SSB in the distance.

17:46 KG0VL-JEFF: WW8II loud as usual.

17:46 AB4AM-ROB: WW8II 579 on inverted V 579 589 on K9AY some light QSB

17:47 WA4LDU-JOE: WW8II CW 518 then into noise... sounds like some "wobble" on the signal almost an echo

17:48 AB4AM-ROB: QSB varies in speed and depth here today depending on the station
