Propagation was good most of the time out to about 300 miles. Beyond that, the band was still poor compared to a December average. The Iowa (KGØVL) to the Carolinas path was very weak even on CW with no SSB detected. Even the Michigan, WW8II, to Iowa path was weak. Michigan (WW8II) to GA, NC, SC, VA, MD and PA was fair but still down from the previous month.

The one path that was better than average is MS (K5HFG) to GA, NC and SC.

K7TOP in OK was detected by KGØVL in Iowa.

Weak signals just popping out of the noise briefly has been reported several times during the past two years of daytime testing. K7TOP in OK reported:

"18:10 K7TOP-BARRY: You just popped out of the noise for a few seconds"

And K4DBK responded with:

"18:10 K4DBK-DENNIS: WA3LKT & N2KEJ are talking"
