Propagation was fairly good again today.  KGØVL was copied on peaks by several stations at over 800 miles.  K5HFG was also heard by several at over 500 miles but the peaks didn't last long enough for complete signal exchange.

In reference to the x-ray flux graph below:
"Sharp eyes might have noticed a very abrupt drop on the solar X-rays graph today. What happened to the Sun? It went into cardiac arrest? Nope. Today, December 9, the NOAA SWPC has switched to GOES-16 as the primary satellite for geostationary space weather observations. What does that mean?"

17:41 K4FI-DOUG: KG0VL Very weak on CW

17:42 K5HFG: copy KG0VL 549 solid

17:42 WA4LDU-JOE: could see KG0VL signal in the noise on the scope at the beginning of his CW but no copy

17:42 W4DEX-DEX: KG0VL CW very little if any QSB

17:43 W4DEX-DEX: K5HFG CW 539

17:43 KP2AE-JOE: locals strong today...some copy of KG0VL

17:43 W4DEX-DEX: K5HFG CW QSB into the noise

17:44 W4DEX-DEX: WA4LDU 589

17:45 KG0VL-JEFF: Heard K5HFG 519 for about the first 20 seconds and then gone. Reappeared for the final 20 seconds in the same fashion.

17:46 K5HFG: no copy on WA4LDU. I see his sig on scope and hear occasional tone but no copy

17:46 KG0VL-JEFF: WA4LDU just above noise, but heard for the duration.

17:46 WA4LDU-JOE: K5HFG very light copy at first in the noise but then faded out

17:47 WA4LDU-JOE: W4DEX CW 599

17:48 K5HFG: copy W4DEX 519/529 solid

17:48 WB4WCJ-PAUL: CW wa4ldu w4dex

17:50 KG0VL-JEFF: W4DEX 579 good CW signal

17:55 K5HFG: Dex, I hear you 51 and returned but you cant hear me

17:56 W4DEX-DEX: You were heard by KW4DE

17:56 K5HFG: I had to use the narrow filter to hear you DEX, atmospheric noise here is loud

17:57 K5HFG: Strange propagation

17:58 K5HFG: Also had to use headphones

17:59 W4DEX-DEX: K5HFG, your signal was good enough during the CW peak for an SSB exchange, just didn't last long

18:01 K5HFG: SSB very light this morning. I can copy bits and pieces

18:01 W4DEX-DEX: KW4DE and I heard you but just barely

18:03 W4DEX-DEX: KP2AE also detected your signal Don
