Propagation was down today as well as activity. The short distance between KP2AE and W4DEX, 51 miles, was very poor except during quick peaks. The WY3T / W4DEX path was useable on CW but not reliable SSB copy. KG0VL, with a receive antenna problem, detected CW from W4DEX initially a slight improvement toward the end of the two-minute transmission. W4DEX copied KG0VL much better averaging 559 for the period. K0AWU reported CW from KG0VL 25 dB above the noise with one 5 dB fade. K5HFG reported hearing no one with noise up to S5 SSB.
==================================================================17:36 K5HFG: no SSB sigs heard
17:36 KG0VL-JEFF: Receive antenna down. Broken transformer feed line on SE loop. Very small wires about 8 feet up. Will have to solder in high winds.
17:41 WY3T-TIM: W4DEX CW is 549 steady
17:42 K5HFG: W4DEX no copy
17:42 KG0VL-JEFF: W4DEX just above noise, stronger around 1741
17:44 W4DEX-DEX: K5HFG not heard
17:45 KG0VL-JEFF: No copy on K5HFG
17:46 K5HFG: WY3T no copy
17:46 W4DEX-DEX: WY3T Started at 549, slow fade to 429 after 60 sec. Up and down the last min
17:46 KG0VL-JEFF: WY3T no copy
17:46 WY3T-TIM: K5HFG CW no copy
17:47 KG0VL-JEFF: KØAWU 549 slight qsb
17:48 K5HFG: K0AWU no copy
17:48 WY3T-TIM: K0AWU CW no copy
17:49 W4DEX-DEX: KG0VL first few seconds 429 then 559 holding steady
17:49 W4DEX-DEX: KG0VL still 559 at end
17:50 WY3T-TIM: KG0VL CW no copy
17:50 K5HFG: KG0VL no copy
17:50 K0AWU-BILL: KG0VL 25db above the noise first min, QSB down to 20db and then right back up to 25db
17:51 WY3T-TIM: idle noise here is typical S4 SSB and S1-2 cw
17:52 WY3T-TIM: Had you at 55 on that last tx
17:53 WY3T-TIM: W4DEX now faded into noise
17:54 K0AWU-BILL: KG0VL ?? Think I heard you call .... at noise
17:57 K5HFG: noise up to S5 SSB was S3 at start. Can not hear any sigs today
17:58 KG0VL-JEFF: Gotta run outdoors to work on that silly antenna during a gale. 73 everyone
17:58 K0AWU-BILL: 73 all ... tough conditions today!!
17:59 W4DEX-DEX: 51 mile path between KP2AE and is really poor....but have seen quick S7 peaks
