The most useable SSB path today, 323 miles, was between KØAWU and KGØVL. Even so, KØAWU reported signals were down 30 dB lower than yesterday. At 443 miles propagation was good enough between KGØVL and WW8II for SSB most of the time. On out to 603 miles WW8II was able to make an SSB contact with KØAWU.
Propagation wasn's as good on the southern paths. WY3T was barely detectable on SSB at W4DEX although CW was good copy. WA4LDU had a bit more signal from WY3T but still to weak for SSB. AB4AM and W4DEX was only able to swap signal reports on SSB on peaks over the 216 miles path. Signals from KP2AE, the shortest distance from W4DEX, 51 miles, ranged from S9 peak to close to the noise on fades. WW8II on CW was fair copy but no SSB contact was made. AB4AM was able to get partial copy on K5HFG. K5HFG reported on SSB heard. For the first time in many months, the 808 miles between KGØVL and W4DEX wasn't even useable on CW with both stations reporting signals barely detectable.
